My Work

My work showcases how perception can blur reality and vice versa. The idea of painting the world around me fascinated me since I began painting. At the beginning of my journey, I admired landscape paintings that blurred the lines between reality and perspective. My work embodies the work of my imagination and perspective through paint and pen. Acrylic paint that creates forms and textures also created an outlet for my creativity. In art, there are no boundaries to what one can imagine or create. My work displays those endless boundaries by capturing the uniqueness of faces and landscapes. Some faces are people many know, while others are individuals that make you take
a second glance. My most recent works showcase the use of acrylics as a way to stretch the boundaries of our perception. How do we perceive others? In what ways are we the same? Although the answers to these questions seem to be simple, when we study human faces these questions have many if not endless answers. Every face is unique, and every landscape has its place in art.

The use of acrylic paint as the main medium in my art symbolizes the rigid yet flexible nature of human faces. In a sense, the acrylic paint in my work represents my imagination and mind. Our minds are flexible while having the capability to be rigid. Acrylic paint encompasses this flexibility and rigidness within one form. My work which includes both landscapes and portraits displays how acrylic paint can be used to create gentle curves and sharp edges. These acrylic portraits unveil the flexibility of both the human perspective and scenic landscapes.
